[34] Navigator インターフェイスの vibrate は、バイブレーションの実行、 つまり装置を振動させることを指示するものです。

仕様書

引数

[23] vibrate メソッドは、必須の VibratePattern 型の引数を1つ持ちます >>16。 これは実行する振動のパターンを指定するものです。

返り値

[24] vibrate メソッドの戻り値の型は、 boolean です >>16。この値はバイブレーションを実施できたかどうかを表しています。

処理

[25] vibrate メソッドは、次のようにしなければなりません >>16。

  1. [36] パターンを、必須の第1引数を VibratePattern として解釈した結果に設定します。
  2. [35] バイブレーションパターンの処理 (processing vibration patterns)
    1. [37] 正規パターンを、パターンを検証および正規化した結果に設定します。
    2. [26] 文脈オブジェクトの最上位閲覧文脈に関する可視性状態の決定の結果が visible でなく、 プラットフォームと深く統合され特権を持ったアプリケーションでもないなら、
      1. [40] 偽を返し、ここで停止します。
    3. [38] 正規パターンについてバイブレーションを実施した結果を返します。

[39] 仕様書は可視性状態が変化した時バイブレーションパターンの処理を停止することを求めています >>16 が、実質的にはバイブレーションパターンの実施を停止させるものです。

[27] 旧版の仕様書は、どの文書の状態を参照するべきなのか明確ではありませんでした。

歴史

ガラケー時代

[17] ガラケーの中には、HTML の vibration 属性や viblength 属性によってバイブレーションの挙動を指定できるものもありました。

[20] この2つの属性は、 a 要素、 input 要素、 img 要素に存在していました。

[19] img 要素の vibration 属性は、対応機種のサポート終了により2010年4月の2.1.0版で削除されました。 (他の要素では存続。)

[18] これらの属性は標準化されることなく、ガラケーの衰退により使われなくなりました。
