The Islamic Development Bank hosted the second meeting of IDB 1440H Vision Commission at IDB headquarters in Jeddah on 19-20 December 2005, under the chairmanship of H.E. Tun Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohammed, former Prime Minister of Malaysia, and with the participation of H.E. Prof. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie, former President of Indonesia, and Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Ali, IDB President.
The two-day meeting discussed the final document on the IDB's Vision and future role up to 1440H (2020G) and its implementation tools under the light of the four workshops which were held in the last few months in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for Eastern Asia, Almaty, Kazakhstan for Central Asia, Dubai, UAE for MENA, and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso for Africa.

His Royal Highness Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj Ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj was proclaimed the 9th Sultan of Selangor on 22 November 2001, or 6 Ramadan 1422 Hijrah, following the demise of his father, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj on 21 November 2001. He was later enthroned and crowned in a ceremony full of Royal Customs in Balairung Seri, Alam Shah Palace, Klang on 8 March, 2003 or 5 Muharram 1424 Hijrah.
Duli Yang Maha Mulia Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj dimasyhurkan sebagai Sultan Selangor yang ke-9 pada 22 November 2001 bersamaan 6 Ramadhan 1422 Hijrah. Pemasyhuran Baginda adalah berikutan kemangkatan Paduka Ayahanda Baginda, Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Alhaj pada 21 November 2001. Baginda ditabal dan dimahkotakan dengan penuh Adat Istiadat Diraja di Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah, Klang pada 8 Mac 2003 bersamaan 4 Muharram 1424 Hijrah.
