The xweb protocol is an addition to the current World Wide Web protocol suite.  Since the intent of xweb is to extend the current standard, and new URL scheme must be added to allow inter operability between xweb servers and conventional http servers.  This document describes the xweb URL scheme.  The xweb scheme is modeled after the http URL scheme, with additions to provided the needed functionality.
