[[Internet Explorer]] や [[Microsoft Office]] が実装していた
[[HTML]] の構文で、製品やその[[版]]、対応している技術によって評価するべき[[内容]]を切り替えるものでした。

[23] 非 [[Microsoft]] 製品は通常の[[HTMLコメント]]として解釈し、無視するものでした。

[[VML]] や [[Microsoft Office独自の語彙][Microsoft OfficeのHTML]]による記述と、
非 [[Microsoft]] 製品向けの記述との切り替えに用いられていました。
