[[利用者]]の情報などの[[追跡]]を拒否する意思を[[HTTPサーバー]]に対して表明するための
[[HTTPヘッダー]]です。

[[HTTPサーバー]]側で得られる情報を使って、あるいは [[JavaScript]]

[[利用者]]の属性に関する情報や[[利用者]]の行動履歴などを収集し、
蓄積し、時には第三者に提供することがあります。
しかし、こうした行為は[[利用者]]の[[プライバシー]]を侵害するものだと考える人もいます。
