[1] Open Web Platform は、 Web標準やそれに類する技術によって構成されるプラットフォームです。

[16] KS X 6034-1:2013 は大韓民国の規格で Webアプリケーション開発のためのフレームワークと称していますが、 その中身はほとんど W3C の仕様カタログのようなもので W3C が Open Web Platform と呼んでいたものに近い (そうはいっていないし、時代が少し古い) です。

[17] なんで KS が W3C のプロパガンダの韓国語版みたいなものを発行してるのかは謎ですが、 KS X 60xx シリーズは W3C の仕様を韓国語に翻訳したものが並んでるみたいです。

[23] 時系列で見れば、「Web platform」という語が本格的に意識され始めた時期は、スマートフォンがまだ勢力を固めきっておらず、むしろFlash(とそれを支えるAdobeのエコシステム)がWebの主権を簒奪していた時期です。

[26] W3Cは XHTMLやSVG、MathMLなどを推進、 更には XML技術や Semantic Web や WS-*, VoiceXML, MMI, Mobile Web などに注力するも、現実のニーズと乖離。Flashに対抗し得ない。

[27] 一方Mozilla/Opera/Appleは WHATWG を立ち上げて実装主導のHTML5へ方向転換。 市場は熱狂しW3Cもこれを事後承認せざるを得なくなる。

[24] W3Cが「Open Web Platform」という言葉を出してきたのは、標準化レースに遅れた側が、後から「この技術たちも含まれてますよ」と既得権化を目論んだように見えた。それが失笑されることになったのでしょう。

[25] 「Web platform」はFlashからWebを取り戻す運動であり、 「Open Web Platform」はその成果に便乗しようとするW3Cのパッケージ戦略だった。 そして両者のギャップが、技術史的に非常に皮肉な構図を生んだのは確かです。
