  • Microsoft Internet Explorer Internet Explorer IE Microsoft 社の Webブラウザー。 長らく Windows の標準 Webブラウザーだった他、 Classic Mac OS 版などもあった。 実装は大きく異なるためそれぞれ WinIE, MacIE などと通称される。
  • WinIE Windows 版 Internet Explorer の通称。 初期版は Spyglass Mosaic からの派生。その後 MSHTML 等のソフトウェア部品として Windows に組み込まれ、レンダリングエンジンとしては Trident と呼ばれた。 第1次ブラウザー戦争の覇者だったが、 その終戦後に多くの不具合と標準仕様への不適合を抱えたまま開発停止したため、 長年にわたってWeb開発者らを苦しめ続けた。 後に大規模改修により Edge となった。
  • IE:mac MacIE Classic Mac OS 版 Internet Explorer の通称。 レンダリングエンジンは Tasman と呼ばれた。 WinIE と異なり当時としては Web標準への適合性が高く、 Web開発者らには好まれた。
  • IE4 DOM Internet Explorer 4.0 で実装された DOM API。 初めて JavaScript から文書のすべての構成要素にアクセスできるようになった。 現在も各種要素オブジェクトや document.all など多くの機能が使われ続けている。
